Wood Products Fit for Japan

JAS.jpgAs experts in the Japanese building industry, we’ve conducted JAS certification since 1995.

We are a Registered Oversees Certifying Body (ROCB) and certify manufacturers of wood products for the Japanese market under the Japan Agriculture Standards (JAS) system.

Japan is one of the largest wood-consuming markets in the world. We work with manufacturers of plywood, structural panels, flooring, glued laminated timber, laminated veneer lumber and finger-jointed structural lumber before they export products to Japan. Our accreditation services apply to products made anywhere in the world.

Every step of the way, we’ll help you make sure all agricultural and forest products are properly labeled and meet JAS quality and design standards.

Expanding Japan’s Market

Our role as an ROCB goes well beyond certification. We’re also an active US delegate in annual meetings with Canadian and Japanese Building Experts and JAS Technical Committees (BEC/JTC).

These meetings bring the major players in the Japanese building industry together, including the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). During the meetings, we help expand the range of wood products that can be shipped to Japan and modify Japanese law, building codes and standards for new designs and product lines.
